Samsung Smart TV application

ViewDeck App Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

한국어 개인정보 처리방침

Development status: ViewDeck is under development and is not yet available for public download. This notice describes its current design and intended use. It will be reviewed and updated to match the version submitted for release.

1. Who operates ViewDeck

ViewDeck is independently developed by Bodhrul Ali, trading under the ViewDeck/Bodski name. It is designed to let a user connect a compatible Samsung Smart TV to their own Reolink network video recorder (NVR). ViewDeck is not affiliated with Samsung or Reolink.

2. Information used by the app

To connect to and operate a user's NVR, ViewDeck may process:

Camera images and sound can include information about identifiable people. The user is responsible for deciding how cameras are positioned and used and for complying with applicable recording and privacy laws.

3. How the information is used

ViewDeck uses this information to connect to the selected NVR, authenticate, show camera feeds, find and play recordings, display events/thumbnails, remember viewing preferences and recover from playback errors.

The app's core video viewing is designed to operate directly between the TV and the user-configured NVR or its local network address. We do not operate a video relay, hosted CCTV archive or ViewDeck account service, and the current app does not intentionally upload customer camera footage or NVR passwords to servers operated by the developer.

4. Storage on the TV

NVR credentials are intended to be saved locally using the Samsung TV's supported protected credential storage. Connection metadata, viewing preferences and some temporary media/search/thumbnail information may be retained locally to make the app work. Authentication session tokens are held in application memory during a session and are not intended to be stored as permanent login details.

Cached data and saved profile information may persist until changed, cleared through supported app controls, evicted by the application/platform, or removed using applicable TV storage-management methods. We will document the controls available in the released version; uninstalling an app should not be assumed to remove every item from all platform-managed stores.

5. Network connections and security

ViewDeck connects to equipment and addresses chosen by the user. Local HTTP connections are supported for NVR compatibility and are not encrypted by TLS. Where an NVR is configured with a certificate trusted by the TV, an optional HTTPS connection may protect supported web requests, but it does not automatically encrypt every separate native NVR operation. Certain native TCP connections and any unencrypted RTSP transport, if offered by a release, do not receive HTTPS/TLS protection merely because HTTPS is enabled for web requests.

For this reason, we recommend using a trusted private local network and HTTPS when it is correctly supported and configured. Connection types and supported protections may vary with the final application version and NVR.

6. Sharing and third-party services

Camera and login information is exchanged with the user's chosen NVR to provide viewing services; it is not sold to advertisers. The current application has no built-in advertising or developer-operated customer tracking service. Samsung may independently process device, download or purchase information when you use Samsung's TV platform or Store, subject to Samsung's own privacy terms. Your NVR manufacturer and any connected services may have separate privacy practices outside ViewDeck's control.

If you contact support, we receive whatever information you voluntarily include in your email or message. Do not send NVR passwords or private camera footage in support requests unless specifically necessary and agreed.

7. Your controls and requests

You can choose which NVR to connect, whether to enter credentials, which cameras to display and which features to use. If you want help accessing, correcting or removing saved ViewDeck information, or have a privacy question, contact us at bodhrul@gmail.com. We will respond according to applicable law and the technical limits of the TV and NVR systems.

8. Children's privacy

ViewDeck is a general-purpose CCTV viewing utility and is not designed to collect information directly from children. The user controls the connected cameras and their content.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as ViewDeck's functionality, supported transports, payment features or legal requirements change. We will publish a revised version and update the date on this page before relevant public release changes.

10. Website privacy
